Lose weight with rebounding exercises

Rebounding Exercises For Weight Loss

I have seen that most of the gyms have started rebounding classes. I was very curious to see how an hour is going to be. Fun or sweaty? The truth is, it’s fun, easy and safe no matter what age you have. What attracted me the most is that I saw how everyone is having fun at this time.

The new weight loss technique is full of energy. For rebounding exercises for weight loss, you need a miniature trampoline. It’s the ideal new sport for people who want to lose weight.

What Is Rebound?

This is the latest method of weight loss exercises made at the mini trampoline. It is said to be a revolutionary weight-loss method that burns up to 600 calories in a single session.

Most easily – jump on a mini trampoline. Unlike the classic jump on the trampoline, where the stakes are to jump up to make all kinds of tricks, the rebound idea is to make a series of short and controlled moves.

I have to say that you can do rebounding exercises at home. You buy a mini-trampoline, put on an exercise DVD and start jumping. When you already know the moves you can even stand in front of the TV and do the workout at the same time. I think it is one of the most suitable workouts for home if you have space and you do not disturb anyone with your hopping.

NOTE: The rebound exercised should not be used by pregnant women and persons who have problems on the spine.

Benefits of Rebound Exercises

Rebound has a zero impact on the joints and a very strong impact on the health of both teenagers and the elderly.

1. According to NASA, the rebound is 68% more efficient than jogging.

2. Improves the digestion and elimination of cellular toxins.

3. Accelerates metabolism.

4. Increases oxygen intake and detoxification through the lungs, skin, and lymph.

5. Has an analgesic effect on the body, eliminating the neck, back pain by improving the circulation of blood and oxygen.

6. Reduces blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol by improving oxygenation and dilation of blood vessels.

7. Has a stabilizing effect on the nervous system, thus reducing stress. Rebound exercises increase endorphin levels, thus relaxing deeply.

8. Improves your sports capabilities for other activities such as golf, tennis, ski, climbing, and kickboxing, without trauma to the joints.

9. It is a “no-impact” aerobic form that helps people with disabilities, arthritis, the elderly and low mobility.

10. It is the ideal form of movement for pregnant women as well.

11. It is a good method for bringing young people into the world of fitness by teaching them coordination and balance.

12. It is intended for all persons, regardless of the time they have and the funds they have. It can be practiced at home, even when you are on your vacation. It helps improve brain balance between the two hemispheres.

13. It has positive implications for improving the mind/body connection, especially for children with a sense of rhythm, coordination and low balance.

20 minutes of exercise is the equivalent of 60 minutes of aerobic exercise
Rebounding accelerates metabolism

14. The father of modern aerobic exercise, Dr. Kenneth Cooper, found that alternating aerobic exercises with weight sessions helped to increase strength.

15. You work your abdomen much more efficiently than simple ground exercises.

16. Your workout stimulates the edges and strengthens your body muscles.

17. Also, the jumps strengthen your body, heart, and lungs, activate your metabolism and give you a state of energy.

18. By regular daily jumping, you reduce your calorie counts and lose weight with ease. You stay in shape and shape your body to a beautiful figure.

19. Just 20 minutes of exercise is the equivalent of 60 minutes of aerobic exercise.

20. Jumping helps you improve your breathing, stimulate your digestive process and relieve muscle or back pain.

21. Exercises help you get rid of constipation.

22. The special movement on the trampoline helps you oxygenate your brain, purify your body, have more energy and vitality.

23. Jumpers contracted and relaxed your muscles and joints, helping you to get rid of tension accumulated in the body.

24. Rhythm or speed changes during exercises allow your body to adapt and strengthen, in this respect we refer to the joints and the muscular system.

25. By keeping your balance on the trampoline mattress, your abdominal muscles are moved, and they are stimulated and strengthened. By jumping on the trampoline, the muscles are flexed and not tensed and thus more and more developed.

26. Also, through daily exercises, you train the muscles of your legs, buttocks, and thighs will be toned.

27. By swinging your arms during the jump, you can also strengthen your muscles.

28. Such exercises help to increase body resistance. They also have a beneficial role in your lymphatic system and reduce excess fluid in tissues.

Have I mentioned that is FUN?

Exercises To Do At Home

You can do simple exercises or in combination with weights and dumbbells. You can add weight to your ankles, or just as well you can hold small dumbbells in your hands to increase the strength and efficiency of your workout.

Make a jump on the trampoline holding your right legs.

Try to jump sideways on one leg and the other, changing the alternate weight from one foot to the other.

Jump forward and back, when on your right foot when you turn left, changing them alternately.

Perform a jump with legs held straight and a little off and crossed hands on the chest.

Jump forward and then back, alternately, when on your right foot when the left.

Perform a jump on the trampoline raising your knees as high as possible. Make quicker jumps then slow down the pace.

How To Choose One For Home

You should always check for the best relationship between price and quality. Cheap models can be rigid and do not provide adequate support and mobility. What you need to look for a trampoline: check for a 6 feet (those with four can bedevil), solid springs, folding legs, and a non-slip mattress so you can make more demanding manoeuvres.

Rebounding For Kids

Everyone knows that exercise helps the children to be healthy, to develop nicely and to be in shape. Only 2-3 hours of exercise on the trampoline per week are enough for a child to move effectively, have energy, good mood, a joy to play and appetite. Children should always be supervised to prevent injuries and encouraged them to play and have fun.

Jumps strengthen kids muscles
Jumps have a beneficial effect on the joints of the children

Jumps have a beneficial effect on the joints of the children, strengthen their muscles, improve their lymphatic system and blood circulation. When playing music, their favorite songs helps them exercise with more pleasure, have fun and improve their rhythm during the movements.

Jumps are made on both legs, or alternately when one on the other, they are made slowly and at a steady height at the beginning until the child gains confidence and manages easier and better to maintain balance on the trampoline mattress.

Kids can make jumping with their feet slightly out and their hands raised above their heads.

Jumps can be made when on one leg when the other, by changing them alternately to the side, to the left and right, or to the front and back.

Conclusion

Rebound exercises are fun and can be done by kids and elderly as well. Many benefits are doing the exercises and let’s not forget: you will lose weight.

Rebounding removes water from the body, so get rid of water retention, do not force the joints, do not cause back pain and it is the cool and new sport for the slimming of the moment.

Would you try rebounding? I would love to hear your thoughts.

  1. Hi Maria, great article and also a very important one too this can be a very sensitive area for some people, but its very helpful at the same time.

    1. Hi Dave,

Thank you, I’m glad you find it helpful. The benefits are in regards with joints and back pain, these areas will not be affected and it’s fun 🙂
      Thank you for your visit.

  2. I think of doing rebounding exercise however I do intermittent fasting and I wonder when it is an ideal time for me to do it? I know it can burn a lot of calories and I want to maximize results.

    1. I advice you to do rebounding on the days when you are not fasting as the workout will consume lots of calories and I don’t know if you will be able to do a full workout. If it’s not a full day fasting (some are doing a full day fasting only with water), but you eat a plant based diet, there is no problem to do rebounding exercises.

      Thank you for your visit.

  3. OMG!  I tried a rebounding class last week and nearly died, lol. I had no idea how hard it was going to be, I thought that it was going to be a little light exercising but boy was I wrong.

I didn’t join to lose weight, only for a bit of fitness training so I thought I would give it a go, I’m glad I did but I could barely move a muscle the next day as I was hurting in muscles I didn’t know I had haha.

I doubt I would go back but I will certainly buy a small trampoline to keep at home so that I can go at my own pace, do you think 7t would be better to get one with a frame to hold onto?

    1. Yes, Matthew, the classes can be tough if you are not used with.

Haha, but do you know that the best antidote is to join a new class on the next day, right?

Yes, you can buy one at home, as I recommend with 6 legs for more stability and the frame will help a lot.

Thanks for your comment, Matthew and do let me know about your progress.

  4. HOLY SMOKES! My mom has one of these mini trampolines in her storage, I need this! I had no idea that this would be so effective in losing weight. I am a mom of a toddler and unfortunately, I still have post partum weight that I have been trying to get rid of for so long. I also had a c-section so my stomach sort of looks like a “shelf” sitting on itself 🙁 I have been doing lots of walking and jogging with my son in his jogging stroller, but my son doesn’t really like to sit still for long periods of time while I run, walk, jog.

Rebounding exercises for weight loss sounds much more practical ( and more fun! ) I am the type of person who likes the motto “Work less, get paid more” and also in terms of staying fit working out. I feel like this would require not so much effort but burn all those extra calories I have been trying to desperately to get rid of. I am sooo inspired right now to get that trampoline. Hey do you have any suggestions for some good YouTube workout videos? Or some work out videos of people using trampolines most of the video? I am going to bookmark this for future reference.

    1. I managed to bring a smile on my face 🙂 I think we have lots of useful and forgotten things on our storages. I understand you, I also have struggled with the gained weight after maternity and I did yoga, pilates, power walk, but some stubborn weight was still there. What helped me a lot was changing the diet and the physical exercises routine, where I included the rebounding exercises.

Yes. I can recommend BeFIT, Bellicon and Jill Cooper Youtube channels. They have all type of workouts from beginners to advanced.

Thank you for your comment and do let me know about your progress.

  5. Rebound exercises are a real fun and i was even going to doubt if it’s really true that they are more effective than jogging and walking but when I watched the video I got to understand the truth behind it.

It’s interesting and amazing that one can do it despite what age and it has all sorts of benefits and 20 minutes is equivalent to 40 minutes of running. Everything seems like it’s a great fun.

I’m wondering if I can do rebounding on flat ground or I must have the bouncing council?

    1. Yes, they are fun. They seem easy, but at the end of the workout you will feel that it was not just jumping and you will consume lots of calories.

I advice you to do it on a flat ground.

      Thank you for your comment.

  6. There’s no question that exercise has many health benefits even for people not wishing to lose weight. Anything that increases endorphin levels is good by me, except for chocolate which I love maybe a bit too much! I must have missed the memo on rebounding exercises but it sounds definitely worth trying. I gave up jogging a while ago after a few of my friends suffered injuries due to the pounding on their joints. You mention a single session burning 600 calories and I’m wondering how long a single session is. Thanks for this great info!

    Erica

    1. Hello Erica,

Yes, the health benefits are endless, and I can give you a tip: try dial chocolate with 70% cocoa and no sugar, trust me you will love it and you will not feel guilty have a piece of it:)

I also jog, but I prefer the interval training, and you can end up with injuries mainly from wrong shoes or running techniques. If you are interested, you can check my articles Running shoes and Running techniques.

To burn 600 calories, you have to do rebounding exercised for about 45-60 minutes.

      Thank you for your comment.

  7. This is interesting. The 28 benefits of having this rebounding exercises is really awesome. As I watched the video I know I will enjoy the exercise.

My only question is that, are there instances of accidents related to this exercise and use of the trampoline? I was thinking, what if an individual engaging with the exercise made an unbalance step, he could possibly fall or the trampoline might move since I don’t see that it is fastened on the floor.

This is only my weird thinking but it is good to know the possibilities concerning the security of the user.

    1. The exercises are easy and you will have lots of fun. About the security question, I advise you to purchase one with 6 legs because it offers more stability and for your extra security to can try the model with a frame.

      Thank you for your comment.

  8. I was looking for ” a new way to exercise to lose weight” and ended up on this website. I have seen this before but never tried it.  I watched the video and it looks not only fun, but the benefits of saving a lot of time compared to regular cardio is awesome!  I would like to try this, but there is just one thing I am not sure, how high does the ceiling needs to be?  Mine is 8 ft but I don’t think that is high enough.  What do you think?

    1. It it fun, Denis. That was the thing which made me curious for the first time. When it’s about the hight, depends on your hight as well, but I assume you will not jump up to the ceiling 🙂 Maybe, it’s better to try it first in a specialised shop.

      Thank you for your comment.

  9. Wow, this is a very interesting post.
I have been an active gym member for a long time but I have not heard anyone mentioning about rebounding exercise before. I definitely will try it out.
It will be good if you can add a bit of detail on where to get the rebounder equipment and how to pick the right one.
Other than that, great post, very detailed and inspiring.

    1. Hello Jack,

I’m glad you find it useful. The rebounding equipment can be purchased from any sports shop or online websites. I advice to buy one with 6 legs because it offers more stability. If want a bit of comfort and security, you can choose the model with frame.

      Thank you for your visit.

  10. This is quite a better method than the use of pills and different foods that claims to burn calories. I also loved the rebounding method because it requires very minimal space. Again, 68% more than jogging is too good to be ignored, the good part of it is, with rebound exercises, you do it indoors while jogging may require you to find a bigger open space.

My only question is, where can I get one and at what price?

Thank you so much for a great review

    1. Indeed, it requires a very limited space and there are foldable models as well, so practically not space occupied by it. You can get one from any sports specialised shop and the prices varies; there are models with 4 or 6 legs (which I recommend for stability), models with frames. So depends on what are you looking for, just go and try one 🙂

      Thank you for your comment.

  11. My mom gave me her old rebounder years ago, and I let my child play on it forever until she got bored with it. Then it went in to storage.

Now that I am working on my blog full-time, I need something that I can do for 5 or 10 minutes every hour to get me out of my office chair.

Do you think it matters that the rebounder is old as long as it still works (it does)? I am sure that it has 6 legs but it does not fold up. It is just kind of beat up looking from storage. Now I am super excited to get started!

    1. When you start using it, you will get addicted 🙂 5-10 minutes will be 20-30 minutes, it gets dependency.
As long as the rebounder is functional, you can use it. Check the legs to be in good shape and check the mesh, it’s very important.

Thank you for your comment and let me know about your progress. Happy jumping!

  12. I have never heard of rebounding exercises, but it sure does look like fun! My grand-kids have one of those big netted trampolines and they love the hell out of it and come in energized and happy. Being older, I think a smaller one closer to the ground would be fun and a good way to get exercise at the same time. I have some severe joint issues, so if this doesn’t affect my joints I may have to give it a try.

    1. Hello Cathie,

We also have a big one, in the yard and as you are saying, the kids are jumping up and down and coming energised. Yes, it is recommended for joint issues. Don’t forget to purchased one with 6 legs (for stability) and frame, it will help you a lot.

      Happy jumping.

      Stay healthy!
